Constellation of Living Memorials

Revive the sacred grounds of historic cemeteries by re-activating their true natural and cultural characteristics.

The Constellation of Living Memorials is a 2-year pilot. Over the next two years, eight historic cemeteries in Dallas in underserved communities have pledged to lead the restoration of at least 5% of their landscape into self-sustaining native wildlife habitats. These eight cemeteries, plus their guiding North Star – the Friends of the Warren Ferris Cemetery – form the Constellation of Living Memorials pilot program.

Mission

Our mission is to revive the sacred grounds of historic cemeteries by re-activating their true natural and cultural characteristics so that they can offer an authentic sense of place, heritage, and belonging to their surrounding communities.
